Following is an outline of the position for Casual Sales Staff. Applicants should consider seriously whether this description suits them, their partners and their family. 3. The position is casual with hours ranging from around 6 to 24 per week. If you are seeking more hours or a permanent position – You should NOT apply for this position.

4. Applicants who are available to work any (or most) of be♥daring’s trading hours will be given preference. Staff are not required to work every evening or every weekend but if you are not reasonably available to be rostered on any given evening from 3.00pm or any of be♥daring trading hours on any given weekend – You should NOT apply for this position.

5. Staff frequently work by themselves at night with some shifts finishing at midnight. If you are uncomfortable with this – You should NOT apply for this position.

6. The position requires frequent computer use. Programs will be taught but a basic level of MS Windows functions is essential. Staff typically use a POS Program, MS Outlook including calendar, tasks & email, MS Word & MS Messenger. If you do not have reasonable keyboard skills – You should NOT apply for this position.

7. Shifts finish between 10pm – 12am. It is not possible to get public transport at this time. If you do not have your own reliable transport – You should NOT apply for this position.

8. Staff do get breaks as per the award, but are unable to leave the store to take cigarette breaks as this would mean closing the store to do so. If you are unable to work an 8 hour shift without a cigarette break – You should NOT apply for this position.

What we are seeking in be♥daring Sales Staff

1. Proven and demonstrable track record in a position of responsibility.

   Staff are given an enormous responsibility. They are given keys & alarm codes to stores & must turn up to work reliably. A ‘staff no show’ would result in the store being opened late. The successful applicant MUST have a track record in a position of responsibility.

   The successful applicant will be a motivated go-getter. The company is goal orientated & standards are set high. Applicants, who are not prepared to get involved in the business, push themselves & strive for improvement, should NOT apply.

4. Professional presentation and grooming. We require our staff professionally presented and groomed. Applicants are required to demonstrate that they able to meet company dress requirements.

Job Description Overview

Overview: Reporting to the Store Manager, casual sales staff (after a period of training) are most regularly rostered to work alone and are responsible for open, close, customer sales, store recovery and presentation and all day to day operating procedures.
Hours:
• The position offered is ‘Sales Assistant’ employed on a ‘casual basis’. Although not guaranteed hours, staff are generally rostered every week & typically work between 6 to 24hrs per week.
• Casual sales staff most frequently work evenings & weekends although day shifts are also worked. The days and hours worked vary from week to week.
• Staff are trained to open and close the store. Opens may be required from 7.30am weekday starts and closes may see staff rostered until 12.30am (i.e. 30mins past midnight).
• Preference will be given to those staff who are available to work any of be♥daring’s trading hours.
Wages: Staff are paid as per the be♥daring Collective Agreement.
